When people with clear understanding of universitas magistrorum et scholarium decide to take some logical and positive beneficial actions, reasonable citizens will understand that there is no how a good system shall exist without the existence of the community of teachers and scholars.

When a country agrees with the idea of Cosmopolitanism and gaves rise to Cosmopolites, then induced segregation will have no abode in the minds of those who care about the unity of the people.

The Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria B.U.K Chapter, scheduled series of educative programmes that will benefit students and staff of the university. One of these programmes was a public lecture on the "Contributions to Knowledge of the First Imam from the Ahlul Bayt School of thought , Ameeral Mu'mineen Ali bn Abi Talib (a.s)" and fourth Khalif from the Sunni School of thought.

This particular programme was scheduled to take place on 5th August , 2018 at Dandatti Abdulkadir Twin theater. The management of the University granted the above named hall to the students of the Forum to conduct the programme.

Many students of the University and staff were moved by the topic to be discussed and showed keen interest to participate. Sadly, on 4th May, 2018 the management of the university were threatened by the Government in what the University Security Unit term as "Order from above". As a result of the threat, the management pleaded with the brothers and sisters of the Islamic movement to suspend the lectures.

Later on , the police in Kano sent their men to barricade the road leading to the Islamic Movement's Center in Kano and to prevent members of the Islamic movement from exercising their right to peaceful gathering and movement.

We want to remind those in authority and also the management of B.U.K that showed good concern on the freedom of brothers and sisters of the Islamic Movement the following:

Constitution of Nigeria, Article 38: Freedom of Religion

_Every person shall be entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom (either alone or in community with others, and in public or in private) to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance._

_No religious community or denomination shall be prevented from providing religious instruction for pupils of that community or denomination in any place of education maintained wholly by that community or denomination._

All students have the right to conduct their religious activities. *No Jupiter can snatch the rights to freedom of expression and religion of these dedicated and resourceful students of BUK and supporters of Shaikh Zakzaky(H).*
Hence, all educative and resourceful activities of these students will continue. Standing against discrimination and all kinds of oppression against students and staff of all academic institutions is a moral and a legal responsibility of all stakeholders.

Resorting to force or fraud to gain despotic power against beautiful ideas will only encourage scholars and active students to stand against oppression. Using various kinds of intimidations, terror, suppression of basic civil liberties and mass propaganda in order to hide the barbaric acts of this government against Shaikh Zakzaky as well as other innocent Nigerians will fail as guns of oppressors will never silence the power of conviction.

“The man dies in all who keep silent in the face of tyranny.” -
