Reports reaching us from Sokoto revealed that not less that 20 women and 35 children of the members of the Islamic Movement have been reported missing. This was disclosed by a female member of the Movement, Malama Aisha Yaya Abdulqadir in a telephone interview from Sokoto. She stated that since the killing of the Sokoto scholar, Umar Hamzah Danmaishiyya by unknown gunmen and the subsequent assault and killing of members of the Islamic Movement by a combined team of police, military and hoodlums , the whereabouts of several women and children remain unknown to the Movement. “As I'm talking to you, several children and women whose husbands are either killed or arrested and their houses set ablaze are missing. It is equally sad to tell you that most of them have lost valuables in the carnage” she said In a related development , a member of Islamic Movement was two days ago hacked to death and mutilated at a ward or area in Sokoto metropolis called “Iraq”, having boarded a commercial cycle rider (Achaba) without knowing the extent of the mayhem but was lured to the area where he was lynched
