   20 Children of Fudiyyah Primary School Memorised Qur'an in Kano

20 pupils of Fudiyyah Primary School committed holy Quran to memory. The pupil comprises of ten males and ten females who are between the ages of 8 and 14 . The ceremony took place on Saturday the 3rd of September 2011 (6/Shawwal 1432).

Each of the  child was tested by the Chairman of the Association of Qur’anic Reciters of Nigeria, Shekh Gwani Lawi during a ceremony organized at K/mazugal play ground  attended by parents, guardians and members of the general public.

Welcome address was delivered by Chief Host Sheikh Muhammad Turi followed by a speech by the school’s  headmaster, Mallam Auwal Shamsu who spoke on the achievement of the School during the year and problems faced with view of tackling them.

 Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was the guest speaker. He spoke on the importance of memorizing Holy Quran at tender age. He described the holy Qur’an as the root of civilization adding that Arabs were uncivilized before Islam. And with the Revelation, Arab were civilized. It’s this knowledge and civilization from the Arab that spread to all part of  the world including Europe which was in known Dark Ages.

It could be recalled that last year 20 children of the school memorized the holy Qur’an . The Fudiyyah School Kano is one of the over 300 Schools run by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. Currently, in only few of the Schools Tahfiz (memorization)  Section was introduced as testing ground. Other Schools will follow suit shortly.
