MEMEBRS OF THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT IN KANO PAY AN ANNUAL MAULUD COURTESY CALL TO KHALIFA OF SHAIKH MUHAMMAD ABDUL KAREEM AL-MAGHILI IN KANO. Mal Muhammad Turi and some members of the Islamic movement paid an annual Maulud courtesy call to the khalifa of Shaikh Muhammad bin Abdul Kareem Al-Mughili at the Sharifai neighbourhood quarters of the ancient Kano city on Saturday 2nd Rabiul Auwwal 1432. On arrival at Sharifai quarters they were received by the representative of the Khalifa. Shaikh Muhammad bin Abdul Kareem Al-Mughili a progeny of the Noble Prophet (SAWA) was a renowned Islamic revivalist in Northern and western Africa and has stayed in some ancient cities of today’s Nigeria, notably Kano city during the regime of Muhammad Rumfa in the 15th century AD.
Mal Muhammad Turi expressed that they were at the residence of Khalifa to pay the annual Maulud courtesy call to the Khalifa and to extend greetings on behalf of the leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) as Muslims entered the birth month of the Rasool (SAWA). He also rejoiced with him for yet witnessing another Rabiul Auwal and as usual solicited for prayers from the Khalifa.
In his reply Khalifa of Al-Maghili lauded the efforts of the movement in championing the exemplary model of the Rasool (S) in uniting the Muslim Ummah and upholding the status of humanity. He also appreciates all efforts of Mal Turi towards the concern and gestures on the progeny of Al-Maghili in Kano.
Before the closing prayers from the Khalifa of Al-Mughili, Mal Muhammad Turi handed over a car as gift to the Khalifa who for so long had to be daily running on a motor bike despite his old age. A spokesman of the family of Al-Maghili on behalf of the Khalifa responded with loud ovation their appreciation of the gift which is first of its kind. Muhammad Isa Ahmad
