Islamic Authority would be established in Nigeria Report by Dauda Nalado The National Conference organized by joint Sisters/ Academic fora of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria held at Ilorin, Kwara State, came to an end with the closing remarks by the Revered leader Sayyid Ibraheem Ya’qoub al-Zakzaky (H).He began by explaining the structure and activities of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. The Movement comprises of organs to cater for various activities. These include, among others: The Islamic Medical Association (ISMA); The Hurras (Guards); The Resource Forum, the sisters Forum, the Academic Forum. The Resource Forum consists of members who have undergone tertiary education and now working in different fields. The Academic Forum consists of students, lecturers and staff in the academic Institutions of higher learning. Hence some members can belong to both academic and resource fora. The Fudiyya lajna comprises of several primary/secondary schools spread across the country. Malam Zakzaky (H) was not assigned a particular topic for the closing remarks. However, he decided to make some comments on the establishment of Islamic Authority in Nigeria. The highlights of his remarks are presented in the coming paragraphs. The Nigerian System is in Harmony with anything but Islam Nigeria is a British creation. It borders Niger, Chad, Benin, Cameroun and the Atlantic Ocean. Before the colonial mongers, there were kingdoms. The most prominent united and civilized entity was the Islamic State usually coined as the Sokoto Caliphate, established by Shehu Usman Danfodio (TR). Shehu had hoped that the Islamic State spanned from the present day Mali through Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroons to the Atlantic Ocean. The advent of the colonizers halted this. After colonization and subsequent so called independence (or is it independent slavery?), the fear was that the Islamic state would bereverted to. In the maiden national assembly, they always talk of the North, dominating others. They tried to make North/Hausa/Fulani synonymous with Islam. Later, the Regions were abandoned. States were created instead. They said Nigeria is secular. However, Islam is the only target. This is because the Nigerian System is in harmony with anything but Islam. Sometimes, they try to fool us nowadays with what they say: Nigeria is a multi religious society! Malam (H) then explained the fact that Islam cuts across tribal, regional and other artificial barriers. He employed people to study Islam very well. It is a universal Message sent to Mankind. We, as Muslims, in this Country have the duty to tell others boldly that Islam is the only acceptable Universal Divine Message brought by the Seal of the Prophets. Nigeria would definitely revert to Islam Malam (H) briefly traced the history of the Arabian Peninsula before the advent of Islam. The Arabs worship several idols. They were disunited, comprising different warring factions.. They were entangled in incessant wrangling between different clans. They even went to the extent of taking blood vengeance in arrears! They sleep with their swords out of the sheath. The Kalimah (Islam) came and united such people. Islam united the terribly warring Arab clans of the Aus and Khazraj in Yathrib. They even renamed the city to Madinah! The Arabs became the companions of the Prophet of Islam with the highest form of proper ethical standards. Islam attracted people from different parts of the globe and they became exemplary companions of Muhammad (SAWA). Good examples include Bilal (RA) from Ethiopia, Salman (RA) from Persia and Suhayl (RA) from Rome. All were united under Islam. In fact, the Prophet lived what could be considered as the “perfect” human model on earth. All these are a testimony to the fact that Islam is a Universal Message to general mankind and not an exclusive preserve of any tribeor region. It is neither a personal heritage. By making Islam as personal heritage, we are blocking the chances of others to come to its fold. In this country, the misunderstanding that Islam belongs to certain tribe/region makes many people to believe that it is “impossible” for Islam to rule this country. Then Sayyid Zakzaky (H) posed the question: “Which is more difficult:
Transforming the Arabs who worship multitude idols and were disunited OR
transforming the Nigerian society which believes in One God and share
many common aspects?” The obvious answer is that it is no doubt easier
to transform the Nigerian set up. Even the Nigerian Authorities, past
and present, together with their overlords in USA, Europe and the
illegal Israel, know for certain, that it is quite possible for Nigeria
to revert to Islam. In fact, they are seeing the clear signs in the
horizon. It is just a matter of time. That is what explains their fear.
Thus they resort to unrelenting “soft” and “hard” attacks on the Islamic
Movement.
