DARUL QURAN MAIDEN QURANIC EXHIBITION AND QURANIC RECITATION COMPETITION. The maiden Darul Quran Quranic exhibition and its 2nd Quranic recitation competition was held between Saturday 29th Shaaban- Sunday 1st Ramadan 1432 (30th -31st July, 2011) at School of Hygiene, Kano. Special Guest at the Exhibition and Recitation Competition was Dr Gwani Farouk Umar, the Chairman of RUMFOBA association Kano. He praised the efforts of Darul Quran while boasting the morale of youths in the quest for Quranic studies. Seven schools participated in the completion which was conducted in three categories: five Hizif, 10 Hizif and 40 Hizifs. After the competition Sumayya Lawan Alhasan, Amina Lawan and Shafa’atu Abdullahi all from Sa’adatut Darain kwana hudu school emerged winners in the categories respectively.
Those who emerged second in the three categories are Muhammad Muhammad and Maryam Muhammad both of Sayyida Zahra school; and Alkasim Aliy from Fudiyya Rijiyar Lemo school respectively.
More so, those in the third position in the three categories are Fatima Nasir from Fudiyya Rijiyar Lemo, Summayya Saleh and Fatima Sani from Thimanul Quran Fagge respectively. Darul Quran held a Walima on Sunday the 1st of Ramadan in honour of the victorious with Gwani Lawi Gwani Dan Zarga and Shaikh Muhammad Turi as special Guests of honour. Mal Yusuf Abdullahi, the proprietor of Darul Quran, in his introductory remarks explained the purpose of the programme which he said, is geared toward sensitization on Quranic studies in the Muslim ummah.
The Guest of Honour Gwani Lawi Gwani Dan Zarga, a renowned Quranic reciter, commended the efforts of Islamic movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sayyid Zakzaky (H) towards Quranic education. Sheikh Muhammad Turi, in his remarks appreciated Gwani Lawi’s participation in the Islamic movement programmes despite his tight schedule. He also encouraged all towards Quranic Studies and adherence to its teachings.
Prizes were given by Gwani Lawi and Shaikh Muahmmad Turi to those who emerged victories and specialized gift to some hardworking participants of Quranic studies at Hussainiyya kofar waika, Kano. Participants at the closing ceremony were opportune to listen to recitation of some verses of the holy Quran by Gwani Lawi before he said the closing prayer.
