Maullid Khatmah in Kano. 16/3/2010

The Kano  Zone of the Islamic Movement organized the closing segment of the Maulid Programme at the premises of Central Mosque Kano on Saturday the 13th of March 2010, which brought to the end of the mauled gatherings organized in all the areas under the Zone during the entire month of R/Awwal. Scholars were invited from and around the ancient city of Kano to witness  the occasion, they include Sayyid Sheikh Hamzah, Sheikh Khidr, Mallam yakub Yahaya Katsina and a host of others.

Sheikh Hamzah who represented the Leader of the Community of the Prophet's decedents in Kano, expressed delight with programme and described the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky as father to Muslims for organizing similar programmes like Maulid gatherings and Unity Week Lectures at a time when Muslims lack a tentative  leadership.

The guest speaker Mallam Yakubu Yahaya katsina after congratulating the gathering on the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of the Best of Creations Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa alihi wasallam) delivered a lengthy speech n which he described the birth month of the prophet as blessings. He added that  Allah shall,  by good hope,  favour  this Ummah through it.

He added that the Prophet came to unite the world under the Message of Allah including the Jews and Christians, who the Quran calls on them to come together under the worlds which none differ about- that is the oneness of Allah without ascribing partner to Him. He lamented that the Ummah is in a state of Zillah( lack of might) due to lack of unity, he therefore called on all Muslims to heed the call of Allah in the glorious Quran where He said “holdfast(all) to the rope of Allah and do not be disunited amongst yourselves”

Mallam Yahya added that whatever the aspiration or desire a human may pursue, after achieving it, he will find out that he still lacks something or will desire for a different thing again. He further said that in contrast, the highest goal of human should be to attain to lofty status of Kamala (attaining to high level of spiritual progress) .

The chief host Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi expressed profound gratitude to Allah for witnessing the blissful nights of the month of R/Awwal. He further said anybody who calls for the unity of the Ummah is really following the commands of Allah and His Prophet and anyone who calls for the opposite should not be tolerated adding that the call for unity is getting stronger by the day.

He further expressed that God Almighty described the holy Prophet as one who is on the best of characters and therefore Sheikh Turi  described  Maulid period as time of reflection  with view of imitating the characters of the Prophet(SAWA).

At the end, gift items and certificates were presented to individuals and groups who excelled in various competition during  the Month.
