Re-Israel at 60: A Cause for Celebration

After   long contemplation from a soul trying to save the face of his country from worldwide condemnation, Moshe Ram, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, finally responded in the Daily Trust of July 4, 2008. It was the second time he was writing to complain that Daily Trust newspaper was “extremely unfriendly” to Israel by publishing defaming articles written by respected writers like A’isha Yusuf, Adamu Adamu- and lately Hajiya Bilkisu (mni) and statements of Sheikh Zakzaky.

Had the ambassador attended the seminar organized by Resource Forum, or had obtained recorded lectures and papers presented, he wouldn’t have described statements made at the occasion as “sheer ignorance of Middle East History”, and would have been jitterier.  The lecture was entitled “Sixty Years of Illegal Creation of Israel” and the issue under discussion for the day was the question of legality, and this is what the ambassador failed to address in his write up. Instead, he went on image making and promos by addressing score cards of Israel in Nigeria.

Tell me, what is so intelligent about this so called “modern and vibrant society” with a “very creative economy” in high tech and science that is engaged in criminal rape, destruction and oppression of innocent people in the last sixty years?  What is so intelligent about such a country that has ignored international human rights law, and in particular, the United Nations’ Resolution 194, as well as all human standards, to lay siege and starvation intended to break the Palestinian people? What is so intelligent about Israel, a country that is strangulating other people’s culture and existence in their homeland through bureaucratic policies and Apartheid Wall that cuts off farmers from their ancestral lands and splits families in bits by a system of paper, permits, proof, and permissions and peace plans? Let me at this juncture use statement of Sheikh Zakzaky at the seminar, if these atrocities demonstrate intelligence, or is used as yardstick to measure intelligence, then armed robbers can also said to be intelligent.

One should turn to the truth, Mr. Ambassador. The basic problem of your country is that of legality, and with a question of legality hanging on its neck Israel cannot present a clean record to the world that would prompt a celebration or acclamation. Mr. Moshe Ram needs the reminder the most to wake up from his deep slumber, and live the life of the 21^st century. This is because what his country is demonstrating to the world today is nothing but sheer barbarism and brutality, characteristics of 19^th century theories. The Zionist state of Israel was established on erroneous belief that Jews are the “chosen people” by God, created to be served by other creatures. This is synonymous with Darwin’s theory of survival of the fittest and the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.   Zionism is an international doctrine which aims to make Israel a “Super Nation” of the Jews dominating all human races. This is why today it is mobilizing economic, social, political and geographical resources available in the world for its idea of global domination. This explains Israel’s exploits in Nigeria’s economy which as a result is not faring too well.

Israel declared self “independence” on May 14, 1948, because war gave them independence, and the day represents the "fulfillment of a historic ideal of the Jewish people" to establish a homeland for the Jewish people. Therefore, Jews and their allies illegally residing in the usurped land of Muslim Palestinians regard May 15 as the anniversary of the birth of the Zionist state of Israel. However, to the Palestinian Muslims and every freedom loving people, the day is observed as Day of Catastrophe.

What peace is Mr. Ram Moshe talking about? Western governments, accomplice the historic crime against the Palestinians, are constantly calling for peace in the Middle East by emphasizing that the Palestinians should forget their past. In another way, they are commanding the Palestinians to also forget their future. It is on record that Jews co-existed with Muslims and Christians in Palestine without any persecution, but with the establishment of Zionism this relationship was destabilized. The Zionist twisted and misinterpreted biblical phrases to awaken deep emotional undertones to appeal to the Christians to back and support the fulfillment of the Zionist state of Israel. Church leaders, some with frivolous intentions, others out of genuine ignorance, have fallen prey to the Zionist propaganda, preaching that by supporting support to Zionist political ambition in Palestine, they would be fulfilling the will of God. They also mischievously believe that by doing this, they would bring closer the second coming of Jesus Christ. So what peace is Mr. Moshe talking about?

By implication, the ambassador was suggesting that Muslims should not mourn the heinous atrocities committed against them when the Jews backed by the United States have instituted the remembrance of the so-called Holocaust? Western media and governments are constantly reminding us of the suffering of Jewish people in World War II. Survivors of the myth of Holocaust are annually remembered and the day is widely observed. An Israeli journalist, Amira Hass has rightly captured this hypocrisy: "Turning the Holocaust into a political asset serves Israel primarily in its fight against the Palestinians. When the Holocaust is on one side of the scale, along with the guilty (and rightly so) conscience of the West, the dispossession of the Palestinian people from their homeland in 1948 is minimized and blurred."

The Jews should have equally been admonished to forget the past (the Holocaust) and move ahead towards peace.

Regarding the hostility against the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, as confirmed by Mr. Moshe Ram, Hajiaya Bilkisu Yusuf and many other keen observers of world affairs need not a reminder.

We are aware of Jewish conspiracy in all aspects of the Muslim Ummah. Whether the ambassador is stating a basic fact or speaking with his tongue in his cheeck, this an obvious fact. The conspiracy is intended to break and weaken people’s resistance towards liberation of Palestine and Palestinians.

Until Mr. Moshe Ram was able to convince the world on the legality of existence of the state of Israel, he better keep his mouth shut. The Palestinians can never accept any peace plan or road map that does not lead to their ancestral land. Until this happens, the independence anniversary remains a festivity in black!
