A three day seminar and launching of  a book in Kaduna by ISMA.

Islamic Movement  Medical Association (ISMA) organized a three day seminar (24-26 /10/2008) in Kaduna and  book launching titled “Lafiya: Ni’imar Allah”( Health: A Bounty from God).

 

The three day seminar was attended by medical personnel  and health workers across the country where papers on health matters were presented by invited speakers.

In its tireless effort to support its many activities, Isma launched a book titled’ lafiya: Ni’ imar Allah’ written by one of its members, Mallam Abdulkareem Usamah.  About 4 million Naira was realized with highest donation of N500,000 from Alhaji Dahiru Mangal , Katsina. Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, donates N166,000 as presented by some members of the Movement on behalf of the Sheikh. Business Forum donates N100,000. Also donated to the Isma were  Zones of Kano, Katisna and Potiskum by their respective representatives on behalf of their zones.

The guest speaker, Mallam Muhammad Turi, described health  and healthcare as  things of paramount  important without which activities cannot be carried out adding that the prophet of Islam has thought the Ummah issues regarding healthcare due its importance. Mallam Turi further explained that there is no disease which has no cure. He cited the event during the lifetime of  holy prophet when he was presented with gift items by the king of Habasha whereupon the holy prophet accepted some of the the gift items and rejected a  doctor  expressing ‘we are a people who don’t  eat until when hungry and we avoid satiety during meal”

The speaker added any activity a Muslim undertakes is an act of worship and as such recommended the effort of the members of the Movement , especially the members of Medical Association  who are being praised by the general public for the  services they have been rendering to them despite the little resources available.

In his speech, Mallam yakubu Yahaya katsina also commends the efforts of the medical members urging people to keep on giving all necessary assistance in cash or kind without getting tired as rewards come from God alone.  Mallam Yakubu presented gift items to Kano zone because of its outstanding contribution to the activities of ISMA.
