Imam Week 2008 HOME

HOLDING FAST TO ALLAH (T) GUARANTIES SUCCESS IN THIS WORLD AND THE HEREAFTER

          On last day of the annual Imam’s week conducted by the academic forum of the Islamic movement in Nigeria on 4th June 2008 at the FIC Danmagaji Zaria, Mal Ibraheem Akil spoke on some aspects of Imam’s life and the struggle of Imam in the morning session.

He highlighted that one of the very aim of reviewing the life and struggle of Imam is for us to reflect on Imam’s life learning lessons from it as an example of the path trodden by Prophets, while measuring it with our present scenario., are we on the right track of the Rasoul (S)? Rasoul (S) has been quoted to have said indeed alims are those that tread    and enjoy the path laid by Prophet’s, and this path is the path of enjoying all to complete obedience to Allah (T) in all ramifications.

While commenting on the path Imam carried out his struggle, he mentioned it was a struggle that was faced with various forms of challenges and tasks which came from the society.  Those in authority had vehemently opposed his call as well as some of the alim that are suppose to guide the general Ummah. What were the attitude of Imam in response to these challenges? It is that of perseverance, wholeheartedly submission to Allah (T) as well as reliance on Him alone.

At a time when the mere mention of the instrument of oppression (known as SAVAK) used by Shah on his people to continue ruling  is enough to make many shiver in fear. His approach was so distinct that many give an account of Imam’s reliance on Allah (T) and fear of Him alone not anyone else.

He also pointed out that the revolution lead by Imam was quite and distinct from other revolution that preceded it in;

·         It is the only revolutionary change that was documented to have its main goal to be for Allah (T) sake alone.

·         It is the only revolution that encompasses all the sections of the society, eg the watchman, cleaner, businessmen, small scale traders, intellectuals, rich and influential figures, army personnel’s,  civil servants just name time. While others eg socialism, French revolution, capitalism etc are known to be spearheaded by a section of the population.

In the field of development the speaker gave examples of the progress the Iranian nation have gone when compared with  the period before revolution in all fields, eg film production, technology etc. He also cited a vivid case of literacy level which has reached more than 80% as against to 10% during the era of Shah.

In concluding remarks thanked Allah (T) for making us heed and stand firm on the path shown by Imam Khomeini (QS) and also the favour bestowed upon us as He makes us stand firm on the path and struggle of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).
