Business and Youth Forums organized Maulid Programme in Kano. The Business Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, organized Maulid Lecture at Center for Democratic Study, Kano on Saturday the 5th of April 2008. Different Scholars were invited to deliver lectures on various topics: Dr. Aliyu Daudu of Faculty of Education, Bayero University Kano, delivered a lecture on Islam and Challenges Ahead. The speaker, however made some modifications on the topic. He rather preferred to speak on Islam and the threats its facing. Dr. Aliyu highlighted on the long term plots against Islam by its enemies. Citing America and the Zionist entity as the leading champions in the course. He described that whosever America calls a moderate Muslim is indeed a hypocrite. He expressed that the only remedy against the enemies’ plots is for the Muslims to know Islam very well and to struggle in the course of Islam without fear. He highlighted on the following which all Muslims should have: -To persist in the struggle to see Islam is supreme. -To unite as a single entity in accordance with the Allah’s command -To be wary of God in all undertakings. -To have a leader amongst Muslims themselves who will lead them in the struggle. - To acquire knowledge as nothing is achieved without it. He added that Islam is about Iman(belief), knowledge and struggle. He also described Islam as dissociating from anything other than Allah. He however lamented that people have left the deen of Allah due to secularism which gets its way into the people. When ever Muslims hold fast to Islam, no power on earth can threaten them. He said Muslims must unite to do away with a bushman and his bush administration. There is no day, on CNN, BBC or other TV stations, one would not see Muslims been killed or injured in other parts of the world especially the Palestinians. This, in addition to calling them with different names like terrorist, extremist, fundamentalist and or reactionary. He pointed. He said further that Islam is faced with threat in a small village called Nigeria. The Child Right Act of Dec., 2003, approved by the National Assembly is a direct confrontation with Islamic teachings. The second lecture was delivered by Sheikh Dr Yusuf Ali. He spoke on the love of the prophet (SAWA) as a vital and necessary tool of achieving success. The Sheikh spoke extensively on the love and how to show the love. The third lecture was to be delivered by Sheikh Nasir Adam who, though present, but could not deliver due to time factor. During his vote of thank, Sheikh Muhammad Turi showed his appreciation to the invited speakers who graced the occasion despite their numerous engagements. He stressed on the importance of unity of the Ummah which is the only remedy to the existence calamities facing Islam. In another development. The Youth Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, organized the another Maulid lecture at Banquet Hall, Daula Hotel, Kano on Sunday 6th April 2008.
Scores of youths from different parts Kano and its environ attended the occasion. Also in attendance were the speakers from Qadiriyyah, Tijjaniyah and salafiyyah and Izala sects. The speakers unanimously agreed on the unity of the ummah as a necessity. Sheikh Muhammad Turi thanked the lecturers and hope that the unity of the Ummah would continue to strengthen. At the end of the gathering a unity week cake was cut. The speakers from different sects joined hands together to cut the cake. Sheikh described the act as cutting out fitnah from the ummah.
