ACADEMIC FORUM : THE WAY FORWARD

In the name of Allah , the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Imam week 2006 was indeed an insuring landmark in the cause of revitalizing the vigour of Academic forum’s activities on our campuses. The lectures and discussions at the programme by distinguished personalities were stimulating, captivating and of the medium of ‘heart to heart’ communication. In fact, all the brothers and sisters who were opportune to participate in the programme will never allow such a golden opportunity to pass them in the future.

During the two-day programme in Zaria, many issues of interest were discussed and important advices were given.

However, the relevant points summed up for the consumption of members are as follows:

  1. Academic forum embraces all Muslims irrespective of the mazhabs they follow. Membership is therefore open to all Muslims in so far as they identify themselves with the Islamic Movement.
  2. All activities of the forum should be geared towards uniting Muslims in the struggle against oppression and attaining the pleasure of Allah..
  3. Members are to ensure continuity of activities in their respective domains by strictly adhering to the four basic principles: Wilaya, Ta’alim , Mujahada and tabligh.
  4. Members should sensible and vigilant  of disgruntled individuals who are fond of luring people into fraternal and sectarian discord.
  5. Members should be patient and tactful in reacting to all insults and insinuations from evil-minded individuals.
  6. Members should identify themselves as followers of the Islamic Movement without fear within their target domains.
  7. Members should consider the nature of their environment in mapping out strategies of action in their perspective chapters.
  8. Members should maintain good relationship with members of M.S.S and other organizations. In case of any problem in that respect , they should solve it diligently.
  9. Members can attend programmes organized by the M.S.S or other Muslim organizations and give meaningful contributions . They should try and exploit such opportunities to their advantage.
  10. Members should endeavour in organizing the academic forum’s yearly programmes viz: Imams week, Jihad week, Sisters week and Danfodio week, locally in chapters.

We hope the above advices should serve as an eye opener and a bedrock for prospective achievements in our chapters.

Thank you.

U.D. Abdullahi,

For Academic Forum Zaria
